Smart Flood Forecasting Vehicle is a Mobile Aero-Ground Parameter Surveyor (MAPS) for Flood Forecasting. This is a self-contained truck-and-drone platform that brings a complete remote-sensing lab to the field. An onboard “airport” launches an autonomous eVTOL UAV equipped with LiDAR, X/L-band SAR and oblique cameras, mapping up to 200 km² per day at centimetre-level accuracy even in rugged terrain. Edge AI instantly classifies roads, buildings and water bodies, derives roughness and canopy interception parameters, and streams them into physics-informed flood-forecast models. By fusing high-density aerial data with ground operations in a single, rapidly deployable unit, MAPS-FF delivers near-real-time situational awareness and reliable flood-risk predictions for emergency response.
